The Waco Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered as the Beta Rho Sigma Chapter on December 23, 1943 by fifteen college educated African American women in the Central Texas area who wanted an opportunity to continue their sisterhood beyond their college experience.
With no chapter located in the Heart of Texas, these community servants consisting of professional women committed to the common good established our chapter. They desired to provide a place where Deltas could continue to inspire young women, sustain their culture and continue their tradition of sisterhood.
Today, the Waco Alumnae Chapter is enjoying one of its most active periods in the spirit of our charter members by continuing to serve the civic, educational, social, and political needs of the Greater Waco community.
